I am looking to upgrade from my droid incredible and am debating between the droid Bionic and the samsung stratosphere. I have heard good reviews about the stratosphere and understand that it doesn't have the dualcore or 1ghz ram. I am worried about all the negative reviews that I have read about the bionic though. Which phone would you recommend? Any help or opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Well if you are just a lil tech savy id say bionic all day. The stratosphere is a cheaper version for lte devices. Generally speaking motorola makes better internal components. The reason i say a lil tech savy is because motorola generally has software issues but again if u are tech savy u can normally fix most issues urself. I have had a few issues with the bionic but i have fixed them all myself. If you root u can make the phone you want. My bionic is pretty flawless now...

I just upgraded from the incredible to bionic. Bionic is great. Overall it is faster and a better experience.the camera is twice as faster. The dialer is far better. The screen its better and worse. you can tell it is pentile display add text is jagged, but it has an easy to see display outdoors.

What do you mean that add text is jagged? Also isn't the incredible penniless display? Is the bionic more noticeable? Finally did you have any of the connectivity issues that I keep hearing about?

Honestly, I love my Bionic. I haven't had any issues with it (other than a bootloop which I caused myself lol) and I think the display is beautiful. I know a lot of people would disagree with me on the display, but I think it's bright and crisp. The only times I notice any pixelation is when an image first loads, but my eyes adjust and compensate right away. The other is red text on black background. That gets a little hard to read. The magnified pictures that people show to enhance the pixelation is unnerving because I can't even focus my eyes if I hold the phone close enough to my face to get it that size.
I haven't had many connectivity issues like other people have mentioned. I have dropped data once or twice, but I think that may have been the area I was in. Mine switches seamlessly from 4G to 3G without hiccups.
My only complaint about the Bionic was more or less fixed by the last update. The camera was a bit laggy on using the autofocus and would sometimes seem to take forever to actually take the picture. It's much snappier now and was never actually a huge issue for me. Having a camera on my phone is an added bonus. I have an actual digital camera for picture taking lol.
Mainly, I would say go to a store and play around with a Bionic. That's the best way to tell if the screen will bother you. You can take a look at the camera and UI and everything else.
I'm completely happy with my Bionic. The battery life is great (I am a moderate user. Generally it does go down faster if I spend all day on the phone making phone calls or watching movies, but you can't expect a lot when you use it that much) Right now I'm at 63% remaining and my phone has been on for 10 hours and 4 minutes. I've had GPS and Wifi on all day. All of my notifications (Facebook, Gmail, Twitter, etc) are set to push. I spent half the day on 3G and half the day on 4G. Made about 14 phone calls (average of 10 minutes). I love my Bionic. No regrets, no jealousy of other phones.

Bionic all the way. Moto is far superior in build and call quality than samsung.

Not to mention bionic is far better than stratosphere. And also consumer reports #1 rated phone. Can't go wrong with that.

The add part was keyboard auto correct I meant the text is jagged also you see very small dots on all buttons and icons. I have had no data issues, very reliable.

I have a bionic and my wife has a stratosphere, she has had zero problems with it since she has received it. Its a nice phone and if it didnt have the slide out keyboard i probably would have got one too. I do like my bionic when its working the way it is supposed to, so i like it bout 80 % of the time.

When comparing your bionic to your wife's stratosphere does the bionic seem to be noticeably faster? Also how is the reception with both phones as far as data connection and call quality go?

The bionic is faster but not by tons. Call quality i would say as good as the bionic, the only time she has had data loss is when vzw is down, cant say that with mine. Its a nice all around phone in my opinion. I would try both at the store and get the one you are most comfortable with. I didnt like the slideout keyboard style so i went for the bionic.

Thank you everyone for your opinions, I ended up getting the stratosphere last night. Couple reasons for my decision. 1) price, I was able to get the phone for $49 2) I like the display on the stratosphere better than the bionic 3) I like the idea of the slideout keyboard. The phone also has a virtual keyboard with swype if needed. The physical keyboard is taking so getting used to but I have only had the phone for about 12hrs. Thanks again everyone!
