New Pioneer firmware update v1.05x

I can confirm if you follow the AVICSYNC link it does provide a 1.05 firmware update for EU models.

However the change files says that this update is not needed unless you want to use AVICSYNC in the EU.

I am going to install it anyway - but that would explain why it doesn't show on the main page. I would assume the March update had the same bug fixes and updates as the November US update therefore.

I updated my F77DAB using the Avicsync link.

Word of warning my initial USB stick failed the update for some reason. So I tried another and it worked. I was concerned I had damaged my head unit and would have to return it to pioneer. I would recommend anyone who does the update has a back up USB stick or SD card just in case.

As if I had not I would not be happy now!

For those of you with the 4100, there has been a patch to 1.05 (1.053), which is available now.

Ran this update and now I'm running into all kinds of issues with android auto. Any chance anyone still has the 1.03 update saved?
Pioneer as expected has declined to provide it.

Pretty sure I backed it up. I'll try to remember to have a look when I get home.

I have the original 1.0.5 update from mid December, but don't see the original 1.0.3 one from last Summer. It may be on one of my off sites which I will retrieve tomorrow or Wednesday.

Didn't get a chance to get to my off sites today; will try again tomorrow. BTW, there is a chance that even if you have it, you still won't be able to go back.

What kind of issues are you having? I ask as I've seen none.

Thank you.

When I download and expand the file I only see references to AVIC510NEX. Will the files in that folder update a Pioneer AVH-4100NEX?

If not, where are the files for the 4100NEX?

Thank you.

Yeah. For whatever reason they name that funny. So long as you download the right one from the site, you should be fine. (I specifically asked Pioneer about this the first update we got.)

Got to my off sites. Looks like I didn't back it up after all. Sorry.
No worries. I found it last night. So far it's a little less buggy(I can connect now) but most of the problems are still there. Any time I use the voice button it immediately freezes up android auto. Also if I try to play music I get anywhere from 10 mins to 30 seconds and it freezes. The rest of the functions on the head unit work fine. So I guess I get to use bluetooth until I figure it out or get a different head unit. I have a One M8 on 5.0.1 for reference.

This update has been incredibly buggy. My Note 5 doesn't connect all of the time, I'm unable to use the audio icon to change media (all I see is a black screen), and the nav buttons constantly disappear. A new update can't come soon enough.

I'll try to get the 1.03 update posted soon. I found out the issues I had were related to my choice to use a cheaper usb cable from Amazon. Got a usb 3.0/ aux jack from my local car audio shop. It cost a few extra bucks but everything works now.

I just bought my 8100 last month through Crutchfield, I guess it had sat in their warehouse for awhile as the firmware version is 1.01, starting to think I should I just stay with that version, as I can honestly say I have no real bugs to report........

hi just had this unit installed but having problems with usb 2 I think as android auto doesn't work I'm using a google nexus 5x can you help at all

Go into settings and set the usb mode to MTP and it should work. Google how to get to "developer options" for your phone. Here is how to do it for Galaxy S6/7
1.Go to Settings → About device.
2.Tap Build number 7 times. ...
3.Go to Settings → Developer options.
4.In the Settings menu, you can find the Developer options right above About device. ...
5.Enable Galaxy S6/7 Developer options.
6.In Developer options page, drag the switch to right to turn it on.
7.Enable USB Debugging and then find USB configuration, click it and change to MTP mode.
ANDROID AUTO should work then.

Is there any way to make MTP the default USB mode? My phone always reverts to USB charging mode. I still have to select USB from the pulldown and change it to MTP every time I plug in my phone.
