new problem problem with Samsung SM-T225 tablet - not starting AGAIN!!!

I believe the tablet is fully charged, but I can't get it to start, after pushing and pushing the power button for like forever!

is there any way to force it to restart, with a pin or a paper clip or something like that?

Help - grateful for any suggestions!

So this has happened before? I can't quite tell from your thread title, because you said it's a new problem, and then that it's not starting "again."

Have you tried using a different charging plug and cable, letting it charge on a wall outlet for at least 4 hours, and then trying to power on again?

But it's a "new problem problem". So that might be why it's happening "again".

yeah, it happened last summer, and I just had to hold the power button a super long time, but I finally turned on - and now I am getting nothing!

okay: I just checked out a different power AC cord - I know this one works because it just worked with my Samsung phone - all right, I'll try leaving the tablet plugged for a few hours or overnight and see if anything changes.

If it still doesn't power on, try the steps to boot into Recovery Mode as described here (but don't select the Wipe Data option -- you can try Wipe Cache Partition instead, if the option is there). https://www.verizon.com/support/knowledge-base-238508/

I tested the charger / cable, and it worked fine with my phone.

then I charged the tablet all night - or rather, I had the charger plugged into it.

And this morning - nothing. Nothing turns on, no matter what I try. (This is an "ex-parrot!")

(am still curious if the old "sticking in a pin" trick is something to try... but no one has mentioned it, so I think not...)

one more thing I think I saw somewhere: cleaning the charging port on the tablet - I saw that Amazon has special brushes and a can of compressed air that's supposed to be able to do that. So I ordered that stuff and it should be here tomorrow.

We shall see if that works!

It may have simply died. Does the back seem to be bulging at all? If so, that would signal battery failure.

I have an older Samsung phone that wouldn't take a charge, once, and the canned air did the trick! Just make sure that the compressed air is moisture free! As some cleaning/duster cans (like the: 'Ultra Duster' brand, as well as several other garbage brands being sold on amazon) oddly shoot a lot of moisture, of which, aside from being bad for all electronics, is especially bad for phone & tablets ports &c, as you might then get the 'moisture in port' alert. Also, several brands warn to 'Do Not Shake" the canned air cans before using them.

Note: Lately, we seem to typically have good air with brands like: 'Dust Off' & 'Office Depot'. And the last 4-pack of Dust Off cans (that we bought at samsclub .com) was $5 less than the crappy moisture-spraying 4-pack of cans we previously purchased at amazon.

We also have some vacuum hose nozzle reducers - that go all the way down to an approx 1/4" nozzle, one having a little brush tip, of which I also swished around a bit in the charging port.
