That's all that I'm trying to get clarification on. I wouldn't believe that that's the case, but I don't know where this headset came from. I never ordered it.

Did you check your order status again for the actual replacement note 7 status ? Gifts cannot be sent over one night.....

It took a week for my 256gb to be delivered after they gave me a a tracking number. It said in my tracking anticipated ship date was Sept 7 and it got stuck there then got an update that it has been shipped on Sept 13 and delivered by Sept. 14.

I just recieved my replacement Note last night and it was just a coincidence that I recieved a VR the next day after I submitted the promotion.

I was just wondering if someone else just recieved a VR out the blue and didn't request it.

That's why I'm confused. The only promotions that I ever submitted were the $50 gift card from Best Buy, the s7 Edge TV uverse promotion, the original Note 7 SD card Promotion and the Replacement VR promotion.

I guess it's a moot point and I guess I just should be happy that I received this.

Email may come late...give it till monday...but you are good since you was approved

Also, the Serial number on the package is the same as the old VR, so I doubt it has anything to do with the current promotion. Must be a glitch or the OP forgot about something.

The VR promotion is really for the s7/7 edge so it will only use the old model. Those phones are not compatible with the new model, only the note 7 is compatible with the new model because of the different USB port.

Just looked at the promotion details and it definitely lists the part number of the 2016 headset. SM-R323NBKAXAR. Last years was SM-R322.

No, the new model works for both micro USB and USB-C

I chose other and used my exchange receipt and just got approved. Not sure if I'll use the vr, but I already have the sd card. After spending 2.5 hours exchanging my phone Monday I'll take anything they're willing to give.

The old receipt still works? Old receipt shows that I ordered in August, but of course I replaced the old phone with the new note 7...so I can just put the purchased date for September and it's okay if doesn't match my receipt date?

yep i used the exchange receipt showing the return and repurchase of the new one from best buy. woohoo mine just now changed to approved and preparing for shipment!

So, I had to exchange the replacement Note because the screen was off center and the left edge panel wasn't working right. They gave me an exchange receipt but it shows the "original purchase date" which was just this past Monday. I'm already registered, approved, and awaiting for the SD card to arrive. But I'm curious, and tempted to see if I can get the Gear VR with the new IMEI and Exchange receipt? Does any of your receipts show the "original purchase date?" As well? I just got them all in the same week, so I'm not optimistic that it will work.

The newest model is backwards compatible with note 7, s7, s7 edge, s6, note 5, s6 edge plus...do your homework

As a person closing in on 50, I can't imagine using the Gear VR - it's been several years since I could see anything that close to my face.

Do they make one that holds the phone out at arm's reach? That's where I have to hold a book if I don't have my reading glasses. Can't imagine the Gear VR-AR* (arms reach) would be much of an immersive experience. What with the knocking over lamps and scaring the cat whenever I swing my head around...

So applied first selected Other and after entering phone info it said not qualified. Went back to reenter things and somehow it said s7 but when I entered the info again it took it. Just checked the status and it says approved.
