Hi Guys,

I have a Evo 4g running 2.3. Stock.

I took it in because my kickstand broke, and they ended up breaking my phone by-accident. They somehow broke some wire that connects my antenna or something and my phone now is almost always roaming.

They said that they are going to replace it with a refurb one since I have the Sprint Protection Plan. Now, here is where I need the help. How do I take everything on my phone now and transfer it to my new one coming in? I would really hate it to loose everything I have. ( Pictures, Texts, Apps, Contacts, Custom wallpapers, passcodes, etc )

Thanks in advance.

The absolute best method I found is MyBackUp Pro. You can save EVERYTHING to an SD card (or online but there's less space). Your texts, contacts, pictures, apks of apps so you can bypass the redownloading of them from the Market, etc.

It's the first app I've ever paid for and unfortunately only resorted to it after my second refurb Incredible trashed my entire SD card and I lost all my data that was on it. It saved my butt restoring everything to two more refurbs. I wish I'd gotten it when I was switching everything to refurb #1 so I wouldn't have lost apps that Google took out of the market/say don't work on my phone (but do, since I was already happily using them).

First... you said that a tech further broke your eVo trying to fix it and they (Sprint) admitted to breaking it... and you are going to except a refurbished eVo??? I would have demanded a brand new one from store stock.

Now to your question on all of your info being transferred to your new eVo.

All of your pictures, wallpaper and any other downloaded things like documents and such are saved to the SDcard under your battery. Just make sure you take that out before you hand over your old eVo and put it in your new eVo, everything will still be there.

As for your contacts and emails, your Google account will have all of that saved for you, all you have to do is just sign in to your Google account when you active your new eVo.... that is if you have a Google account.

All of your "paid" apps will be saved in the app store. All you have to do is just sign into the app store and they will all be there for you to download and reinstall. As for any free apps you've downloaded, you can back them up with AppBrain(its in the market) just download and install it, let it do a backup and you can download the free apps again.

Depending on how you setup your eVo when you got it all of that should be saved to your Google account to.

Text messages I think you can have a Sprint tech can transfer them to your new device.

Decks Rom Rules, Other Roms Drool!!! :-p
Thanks for tryin!!!
