New Rezound .....silly charging cord question

Noticed that my charging cord has a powdery film on it .....it almost looks like the stuff they put on the inside of a rubber glove. Is this normal or was my cord used and dirty on my new phone?

I think any powder I've seen on mine is a happenstance of the packaging process, or the odd bag it was shipped in (compostible corn starch?). If it wipes off, why worry? If you're not sure if it's new or not, look at the inside of the ExtMicro USB plug with a magnifying class.

And if you're still unsure, call HTC warranty service. They offer one-time free replacement of accessories.

I just checked mine and just noticed it as well. It doesn't really bother me at all. The part of the cable that I actually touch to charge it seems to be clean. Although I'm guess that's from repeated touch.
