New ROM Manager feature

Just got an update for ROM Manager and a new feature is web connect. I guess if the ROM dev supports it you can download a ROM straight to ROM Manager.

Anybody know what it takes for dev's to do it? I can see this being a killer feature for easy flashing of new ROM's.

(MOD's if this thread belongs somewhere else please move it. Wasn't sure the right people would see it in the Applications thread.)

I just got rooted and started looking for the best program to do a full ghost-like backup. I want to back up a full complete image that when restored brings the phone back exactly as is was at the point of backup.

ROM Manager is supposed to do this but I have a question. When I selected the "Backup Current ROM" option I got a message that I must have "ClockworkMod recovery" installed. Should I press install and do this? I am just unsure exactly what that is and why I need that to backup. ii

my suggestion is do nano + Titanium. Assuming u fully rooted(s-off or nand), you can do your nano backup in the Recovery mode, then buy the current Titanium backup, fully backup regularly.

I hate Titanium... Its the lazy way of doing things...

I personally just keep my programs to a bare minimum...

would you mind to share how you do backup? i mean, for myself, when i have to do wipe data, i even partition/format sd to clear everything up. then flash + titanium restore.

I bought the donation version of Titanium, best thing I could have done. I wipe and flash new ROMs a lot.

No Rom goes on my phone until I rip it apart see what its got going on add my apps Zip Sign and Flash...

Its complicated but I honestly dont have many apps I use Its all Native to be honest

I hate TB It always caused more issues then needed... but it does work...

Personally for me though I dont need it...

Anyone else having issues with ROM manager? Ever since I "Updated" both ROM manager and to Baked Snack 1.75 I have been unable to get ROM manager to do a back up... I try and back up current ROM and the phone reboots to the white screen that says HTC EVO and it just stays there and eventually I have to do a battery pull... Even if I just try and reboot into recovery it does the same thing...

For the longest time I have not had a single problem with ROM manager.. I have used it to flip between ROM's (Baked Snack and Vaelpak) with out hesitation... Then I noticed the new Baked Snack and then got a message to update ROM manager and now I can't do squat with it....
