new rooted user

I would like to upgrade my radio. i am rooted. i am currently running basedand 1.16.00.0223r, software 1.12.605.6, on kernel 2.6.32.21-gb05544a htc kernel@and 18-2#1. what should i upgrade to and how do i do this? thanks in advance.

Edit: I can't comment on which radio is best (generally newer the better) but the post above will show you how to upgrade. I'll let the more knowledgeable fellas on here advise as to which radio to use.

Well, you just told me... so no reason to figure out how to tell... what Radio did you load, and did you check the MD5Sum Code before you loaded the radio???

So you did NOT check the MD5 Sum code of the file??? You need to check that code to be sure you have a valid download file prior it installing it... I suggest download a PC program called WinMd5Sum to check the MD5 Sum code of the next zip file.

[RADIO] HTC Thunderbolt Radios [PG05IMG.zip] (Updated: 19 Aug 2011)... since you have a Froyo ROM you need a Froyo Radio... take the latest From the 1.70.605.0 RUU... you will need to check the MD5 codes of both, and install the separately... delete any PG05IMG.zip files in the root directory of your SD card prior to moving either of these files over to your SD Card.

To flash the radio, rename the zip to PG05IMG.zip if it's not already and place it on the root of your SD Card. Boot into Bootloader: power off your phone... Turn the phone back on by holding down the volume down rocker and the power button at the same time until the phone opens in bootloader. The zip should start running and updating the radio. Once done reboot the phone on and remove the PG05IMG.zip from your phone, or rename, or move it off the root of the sd card in another folder. If its not moved after the installation it will constantly keep trying to update the radio if you ever need to boot into bootloader again to get to recovery.

How many times do I say YES... or just download the one that nate44 posted (it has both)... so either 2 different 12MB files, or one large 24MB file.
