New S Pen tip broken at Verizon

I saw that too, guy claimed he thought that's why it was on display, to show how tough it was to damage...

It's there to show how tough it was to damage? Lmao alrighty then. That is so stupid it's funny. Lol

Was it broken or was the tip gone? These tips can be removed. Maybe they just pulled it out. Normally you need a tool, like the one that will be provided, but it might be easy for others to do without the tool.

To bad you didn't get a pic. I'd like to be prepared and compare to my Note 8 when it arrives.

Part of it was there at an angle with the very tip missing, it had a sharp edge like broken plastic. Looked like someone pressed it hard at an angle and snapped the very end off. I've owned every Note but the original and 7, so I know how the tips can be removed.

That is a very real possibility, I think most in this thread feel that's not likely since the device would have been in place for less than a week. Heck, if it breaks so easily I think there will be many very unhappy users of the N8 (myself included)... :)

Cheers,

Is this another pen gate? remember the earlier versions of the Note 5 if you stuck the pen in backwards it would jam in there and forcing it out would break the sensors.

Went to Best Buy to check out the Note...again. It's good the S-pens were working.

Hopefully not, I had no issues with the Note 7 s-pen, I was very careful with My Note 5. I believe the Note 8 uses the same basic design for the s-pen. :)

Good. I'm not too worried. I never put my Note 5 spen in backwards. I never replaced any tip either. I think we'll be fine.
Those who can't manage their anger might have a problem.

Why? It's not coming out of the worker's pockets if someone breaks a demo unit.

I said in my post that you quoted why I think that should happen. I don't care who's pockets it's coming out of, clearly the customer is a fan of things being damaged that don't belong to them. Let them be on the receiving end of it and see how much fun it is.

It was kind of funny, on my first Note 7, sometimes the S pen would stick in the silo. So i'd push the button on the end of the pen to remove it, and it would like jam itself up into the phone even though I was pushing very gently. Then after 20-30 seconds it would suddenly pop out. My replacement Note 7 never had that problem and had such a satisfying click each and every time. I'm hoping they've perfected that design because I'd heard others who had a similar issue with their 7's. It was almost like the clicker on the s pen was gummed up with some adhesive or something on the inside. Maybe the stuff they used to waterproof it or something.

I didn't even get to check out the S pens because at my Best Buy, both colors had the S pen removed. (I prefer to think removed, not stolen :))

And how does this effect you?

Checked out the Note 8 in person today, thing has only been on display for a few days.

Any way I noticed how thin the new S Pen tip is compared to old devices, and how their demo was broken off at the end of it. I know it was broken because they had both colors on display and the other was fine.

I doubt it's an issue with the phone, but more of a WTF did someone do to it. Why are people so abusive of demo units?

When I viewed the Note 7 during preorder last year the display was broken from a customer banging it on the counter.

people are animals lol

When I went to get a note 5, the T-Mobile reps took them out. They've leaned over the years to do that.

You sound like someone who would defend these people and what they do. It effects me, genius, because then the stores have to tether devices to the table and remove S Pen's because some da** fool had to ruin it for everyone else.
