New S9, can't access data from MacBook

Hi all,

Back to Android again with a new S9. I want to download a few songs from CDs to use as ring tones, using my 2016 MacBook Pro. I downloaded and ran Android File Transfer, which doesn't think an Android phone is connected. That's despite the phone telling me, "The connected device is unable to access data from this device," and that I should download AFT, which means it established a connection.

I found some S8 threads pointing to a setting allowing file sharing. I can't find that setting on my S9. Stuck now.

Any guidance?

Download the airdroid app on your phone and follow the steps

Also should have been a notification to allow access to phone. Could also enable Developer Options and look under USB

Gayle -- I would have thought so, but I never got that notification.

Lucianus -- thanks. I haven't gotten to it yet but I will look into it.
