New sim card, problems with Wifi calling

Hi everyone, I've been recently been having trouble with my G2x's Wifi calling. My sim card had just stopped working, so i had it replaced at the t-mobile store. Everything is working fine, except my wifi calling gets stuck on "enabling", and never connects

My router doesn't seem to be a problem, as I've checked it's setting several times, and my brother's wifi calling on his phone is having no issues. Furthermore, the internet works perfectly fine on my phone when connected to the router.

I've tried the usual fixes of restarting the phone, pulling the battery/sim card etc..

Another (possibly unrelated) issue is that my voicemail icon won't disappear, when i do not have any in my inbox. Not sure if this is related or not, but it is the only other issue that has arisen after getting my new sim card. Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you

Next thing to try is to "Forget" your wireless network on the phone, reboot the phone, reboot the router, and reconfigure the network on the phone.

Thank you for the response. I tried that, but to no avail. I've been to the tmobile store near me numerous times, and at this point they suggest I do a factory reset on the phone. They tried using another new sim card, activating the wifi calling on the account, etc. So this is pretty much the last option I suppose

I've actually had this same exact issue since about a month ago when a local T-mobile store replaced my SIM card because of data connectivity issues I was having (which ended up being on their end with towers and was fixed shortly after).

I just got off the phone with T-mobile and was told this is a known issue with the G2x that is going to be fixed with an OTA software update due out very soon. The guy was apologetic that noe on from T-mobile bothered to tell me about it even after they replaced my entire phone (which has light leakage much worse than my original phone).

FYI I also asked about compensation for the outage and my trouble and he said that since WiFi calling is not considered an essential feature that if I could even convince someone to compensate it would be very little.

This plus the LG/T-mo's attitude towards updates to the G2x has left a bitter taste in my mouth and actually has me eyeing Republic Wireless very seriously.

My Tmobile store actually offered me a prepaid phone with like 20 minutes on it as compensation...not exactly worth it. In any case I suppose I'll just wait on the update and see what happens.

same issue here, it worked for an evening but would only do SMS..

Im in a remote location for family thanksgiving.....it says Im at a location 33 miles away on latitude and maps.....real confusing?

Have to drive 22 miles to get a decent 2G signal to grab emails and make sure all is well.....

Get less than G service so Texts and phone calls are ok for now...

well after a device swap (which T-mobile charged me $20 for without telling me) and no resolution to this issue I finally figured it out. I dove in and rooted the phone. Other ROMs had the same issue but CyanogenMod actually works.

I now officially have a beef with T-mobile. I was told by a rep weeks ago that it was a known issue and an update would be coming very soon for it. I love that they say that WiFi is not a necessary feature which is why it's not a priority to fix.

"very soon" is likely to be several months, not anytime soon. This is assuming we get Ice Cream Sandwich at all. You're far more likely to see it coming from G2x developers than from LG/T-Mo.

For some reason with the G2X needs a slightly older Sim card to be able to use the wifi calling. The newest Sim cards are the 9177 cards but you need the 9073 card. If you can find one, that should do it for you.

I have a 9177 card and Wi-Fi calling works on CM 7.2. Where I have issues is not NONE of the ICS ROMs I've tried have working Wi-Fi calling.

Has anyone with the older SIM tried an ICS ROM to confirm that a SIM card sap wouldn't fix that?
