New symbol on phone status bar after the Jelly Bean update?

I've been seeing a new composite symbol on the status bar on my phone, between the WiFi strength and cell phone signal strength indicators. It's small, and is made up of an arc over an arrow (caret).
Does anyone know what this symbol is? I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere yet.

Do you have a network extender? This seems to be new with JB. I noticed this after updating. It might be a Verizon addition.

Yes, that's it. I tried turning my Network Extender off, and that symbol went away...I don't think about the Network Extender much, since it just works. I did notice that after the Jelly Bean update the lock screen had "Network Extender" on it, and the new symbol is apparently the symbol for that when the phone is unlocked and in use.
