So I will be using my tablet for personal uses as well as work & school. Obviously I have had apps like Craigslist and few dating site ones like Plenty of Fish. My issue is currently, unless something has changed, you can not remove apps that show under "My Android Apps" on the play store and on your device. So would it be much of an issue to start a new Google acct, because I worry my $25 play store credit will only be usable on my email I ordered the device with.

Thanks for any advice as I want my information to not cause issues at work or school, but honestly in the end I doubt anyone will see the apps I used years ago.

I'm pretty sure you can un-pair the device from the Google account they preloaded onto it. You can just do a device reset when you first are able to get to the main screen and it should go through the usual "Sign into your Google Account" setup process like any Android device.

I think the reason they offer to have it preloaded onto it is just for added convenience. You can just take it out of the box, turn it on, and go.

I mean I really don't undertsand why you think folks would go randomly digging through your "My Android Apps" list lol. That would be a bit random.... But i'm not sure how the Store Credit will work... might want to run it by Google.

I_Am_Incredible you realize where I work right? People going into my Apps and sliding to the right to see ALL apps ever installed is something that sadly just happens from time to time. Not like there is passcodes on logging into the Play store or anything it is pretty much fair game. While I have faith google is going to let us remove app history sometime soon I just don't need any noisy co-workers or friends looking through 5 years of my life at a glance you know.

Was mainly hoping maybe someone found a way to remove this history or a way around it without creating a new acct. Which I can do and will do if need be, even if I have to give up the $25 credit.

1. As another poster suggested, you probably can sign in with a new ID for first time and use the $25 credit.

2. If you are forced to sign in with the ordering acct, then add thousands of innocuous free apps to hide a few apps that you want to hide. It's super easy to do in a browser setting with an extra android device.

3. If you still decide not to risk it after #2, then you remove the acct and get a new one.

Thanks for the feedback and may you explain a bit more on your #2, mainly the last part of browser setting with an extra android device? I get adding ton of free apps to blend all together but what was second thing you were mentioning?

Instead of that, you can just use Tasker to password protect the Play Store. That'll give you an added layer of security.
