New to Android? and LOVING it! But?.

Hi All..

I'm a convert from the Apple world to the Note 3 and couldn't be happier!!! It's still a lesson in progress though.. which leads me to ask this silly question:

When I switch on my camera, it looks normal. Even though I'm not taking any photos, when I switch it over to video mode, the video starts recording automatically even though I'm not ready to start recording yet. I've gone thru the menu for the camera and video but see nothing that would turn this feature off as I am not ready to take a video that quickly.

Can some kind soul please advise me of how to turn off the auto start-record of the video on my Note 3?

The two icons you see after going into the camera are for taking the picture or to start recording.


When you press the icon for camera it snaps the picture.

When you press the icon for video it starts recording.

You don't press the video icon until you are ready to record your video.

There are several camera apps that you can get that will offer settings that you may like.

Welcome to the note area. I also came from an iPhone and am not regretting it one bit.

I also was weirded out by the camcorder feature. Most of my videos have like a 2 second "oh crap" beginning lol

Thanks and I eventually realized it was easy peasy and just a difference of how to operate it.

And yes…. I'm loving it too. It seems to never leave my side!! Amazing device that simply puts the iPhone to shame…. and I'm a Mac lover too!

Welcome to the other side! I'm an Apple fan-girl came from the iPhone 3, 4 and 5. There's a learning curve but overall it's been very fun!
