**UPDATE** Issue is resolved, I realized I just needed reload a stock recovery img and after that the updates pushed through successfully. Hopefully this helps anyone else with the same issue!

Hi guys,

This is my first time really using an android phone, came from a blackberry passport so im used to fiddling around with and os to a degree.

I purchased an htc one m8 off kijiji, upon taking it home I noticed its rooted and running a custom rom I believe, at the very least a custom recovery because it says Team Win Recovery Project V 2.8.1.0. Whenever I try to update my htc software it reboots to this recovery page and I can never update my phone.

I've tried looking for RUU's for Telus (its originally a rogers phone but its unlocked and on Telus network now) but I can't find anything! I did manage to download but it fails right when it starts installing, saying its the wrong version for the phone. Could someone help?

I can post any info you need, but heres the basics:
Running anroid 4.4.2, HTC sense version 6.0
Software # 1.12.631.17
HTC SDK API level 6.17 (not sure what this is)

Any help or push in the right direction is much appreciated!

Boot into the bootloader and post your CID and i'll link you to the RUU you need. Also toward the top you'll see PVT SHIP S-ON or S-OFF let us know which you have

Hey thanks for the reply! My CID is Roger001 but my phone is unlocked and connected to a telus network does that make a difference? And it says S- on

You need a Rogers RUU then. It doesn't matter what sim card you're using
