New To Android.....Curious about Themes??

Hey everyone,
I've recently purchased the HTC One M8 from always being a Apple user.
Love the phone! Getting used to Android.
I'm wondering if people use the Themes, and/or Lock Screen apps or do you just leave them and load up your own photo or what not for home screen/lock screen? If you do use them, what are some of the ones you would recommend?

For the lockscreen, DashClock and it's extensions are great for notifications...GoLocker is also pretty popular. And Themer is cool for quick changing pre-made themes.
