New to Android from Blackberry - Help choosing a phone.

The Note 5 seems to be an all around recommendation from people. It's in my top 3. I really wanted a phone with an LCD screen instead of AMOLED this time, that is the only thing holding me back on that one. But my wife is also looking to switch from her Z30 to an Android phone and the Note 5 is almost certainly the one she's going to get.

What's your reasoning for wanting an LCD screen over an AMOLED screen?
If it's the color saturation, you can adjust that to look more natural in one of the screen settings.
The screen is really amazing and the auto brightness works flawlessly.

Welcome to AC!

Note 5 has my vote. There are several apps that will dim an Amoled screen way past what the stock minimum. It has a fantastic camera with a very quick launch time. Snaps pics quickly. It has fast charging and wireless charging. Sadly most phones these days a great dual speakers.

Motorola has just always been known to have mediocre camera specs and software.

No my main reason is that it seems too bright in a dark room but yet not bright enough in sunlight.

I didn't know about the apps that can help with the dimness. That would really take away the need to have LCD be a must have. Thanks!

Then the Note 5 is perfect for you. The auto brightness works great and automatically adjusts to the right level in any lighting situation. When you have the phone on auto brightness, it has an extra brightness boost in direct sunlight which makes it really bright and easy to read. I honest think it is one of the brightest screens available right now.
