New To Android From iPhone

Just wanted to formally say hello to everyone on AC Forums. I was more than a regular over at TiPb and their forums. I was indeed an Apple Fanboy for lack of better words. I always hated on Android with minimal use of the O/S. I all of a sudden got the urge to switch from my iPhone 4 to an Android phone. I guess I got bored of iOS after jailbreaking it and learning their coding to modify my phone however I wanted (for the most part). So I took the leap and came over to the "dark side" of Android.

I couldn't be happier to be away from the iPhone and their locked down O/S. Yes they make great products (still have all Mac computers) but their philosophy drives me absolutely crazy. They are constantly releasing features way after other phones (mainly Android phones) get them such as Hotspot. I wasn't even expecting to enjoy Android and figured I might end up going back. After using Android for about 2 weeks now I can't believe I ever hated on the O/S. The level of customization is amazing. The simple things like text tones and changing colors of SMS is crazy to me. The notifications are 1000 times better than iOS and the development is getting crazy for Android. I couldn't be happier and I'm glad I was able to join the AC Forums and I look forward to learning as much as I can about Android. It took me a whole few days to get rooted, a ROM loaded and knowledge on basic ADB commands. Good times ahead!

I will say it is kind of entertaining to see some of the comments iPhone users make now looking at it from the outside. Ignorance is bliss though I guess as I can attest to that as a former Android hater haha.

Glad to have you here!

I agree that Apple makes very nice products. Their app store is pretty impressive and they always have their eyes on the horizon, for sure.

In the end, though, Steve Jobs' "my-way-or-the-high-way" attitude just turns me off too much. I'm happy when I use Android. I have used other peoples iPhones and I just feel frustrated. They are all the same.

The computers are a different story. If you want multi-media software, they are hard to beat. I don't need that multi-media sw, though, so I don't get Macs.
