Verizon Galaxy S8 New to Android, Sync with my Jeep help

I had a WP previously and with absolutely zero effort it synced to my Jeep with U-Connect. I could reply to text by voice, make calls by voice, stream music effortlessly.

So hear I am, S8+ owner, I got it to sync with my Jeep as far as music goes, but probably 1 out of 4 times it always tells me to press play button. This is rather annoying since I listen to my morning radio show then switch to my phone for music once its over. I don't dare play with the phone while driving 65+ MPH, so I have to wait till I stop at a red light(at that point I'm 2 minutes from work). Is there a solution to this?

As far as the voice part goes, nothing works. If I get a text, my Jeep says "You have a new text message from *insert name*" that is it. It doesn't say "Do you want to listen, reply or ignore" like my WP did. So if I press listen on my touch screen it reads back the 2nd to last message received, if I go to history and press the most recent one it will play back the most recent. Upon listening, if I hit reply it only allows me to reply with predetermined texts, which zero of them, convey the message I need to 99.9% of the time. I installed Cortana to see if that would fix it, but I am having trouble setting it as default voice app as I cannot find the option. Will that fix my issue?

Again, I am new to Android so bear with me and be as descriptive as possible when directing me to settings. Any help would be appreciated.

That is definitely related to car manufacturer and their Bluetooth tech in general. My cars, all of them Japanese brands (Nissan, Infiniti and now Mazda) have never had a problem with SMS and reading them since the tech has been available, but yes, there other brands that are not playing nice with newest phones, and with the S8 in particular that it's even the first 5.0 BT phone.

I think that you can try to see if by installing Car Mode from the Galaxy Apps you can somehow manage to get around some of your issues, who knows, you may even like it and use it exclusively while in your car from now on.

I have a 2013 Chrysler 300 with UConnect. Works fine on mine with the stock messaging app. Didn't work with Textra last I tried, but I want to say they fixed this issue, but I actually disabled the texting in my car. Don't care to have my passengers see that in getting texts. You might check to see if there is an update to the software for your car as well. I've updated mine before when I upgraded with new map data.
