Hi

I am new to Android after 4 years of iPhone. This whole permission granting on app is quite daunting to me. So I have a few questions about it, and hope one of the more experienced Android user can shed some light on the questions.

I am currently running Galaxy Note 2 with latest firmware

1. If an app is granted the location app, network or GPS, I will still have to turn on the Network or and GPS location prior to the app can use it?

2. I notice apps from Glu Mobile request for "your accounts", but after installation, the permission changes to Your Accounts and Usage of your account. Can any app changes permission?

3. The Grant Access To You Accounts permission, can someone explain a bit more to me about it?

4. After installing the app, if I uninstall the app BEFORE running it, will the app developer lose the permission?

5. After using the app, if I uninstall the app, will the app developer lose the permission?

Thanks in advance.

I can answer 1, 4 and 5 for you.

1. Yeah, even with permission, they can only use them as long as you have them on. If you look at day a navigation app, it will say it needs GPS permissions. That's essentially allowing that app to use those features while they're turned on.

4. Yes, they will lose that permission. They only have permissions while those apps are installed.

5. Same answer for #4.

Before installing any app, its always good to check out the permissions its asking for. Sorry I don't know 2 and 3.
