New to Droid Bionic!

Recently purchased 2 Bionics for my wife and me and I purchased two 4000mah batteries online because I know that these 4G phones eat up a lot of juice. For some reason, I cannot get either phone to recognize that there is an extended time battery in them. I've tried several apps of which none of them work and I really don't want to "root" the phones beings they are so new. I know the batteries will last up to two days on a charge but the meter will run down to 5% in about 2 hours and stay there till the phone dies in about 2 days with moderate use. I've tried to run the battery down to empty and fully re-charge them twice and still no luck. Is there an app that will reset the battery meter calibration? Thanks.
