Just got a Nexus 4 (previously has iPhone 4S).
Just trying to get used to the android way of things.

Anyone know how I can get my icloud email to work in the stock email app? All the various settings i've seen online don't seem to work (ie the app throws up an error when verifying the settings).
Usually an error like "can't safely connect to server. (javax.net.sslProtocolException: SSL handshake aborted"

Any suggestions?

the settings shown in the apple discussions thread (the third link) were ones that i tried that didn't work.
settings in first link don't work.
settings in second link don't work (incoming are accepted, outgoing fail with the error i posted in original post).

this is the error i get when trying the outgoing SMTP settings from the apple support doc(the incoming settings are accepted ok).

Here is how I set it up.

for incoming mail

I have imap.mail.me.com
I change the security type to... SSL/TLS (Accept All Certificates)
it changes the port number automatically to 993

the outgoing goes like this

smtp.mail.me.com
I would assume that it automatically is on port 587 when you see it next.
On security type. I have STARTTLS (accept all certificates)

Hopefully it fixes your problem, I know for one it was difficult with iCloud. So hopefully it works after this

yeah got it working with STARTTLS.

some more problems though.
how do i make the mail app use the folders on the server rather than locally? (trash, sent etc).
it's putting deleted items in local trash folder as opposed to the one on the IMAP server
