Just rooted for the first time, and attempting to delete the nonsense that came with the phone. Read through the xda rooting info - and doesn't seem to apply the same with a Mac. Any suggestions/advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm probably just overlooking something simple...or maybe not.

Not sure if it's as simple as opening up the files when mounted, or if I have to mount system in recovery. If the latter, when I reboot it isn't mounted.

Or, if there is a way to do it directly on the dINC...

Yeah you can do it from the Incredible , first get root explorer from the market its a pay apk like 3.99 once installed open it >go to system >app>each apk that you don't want can be deleted, simple holding up it ll bring up several options I recommend rename it instead delete it ex: cityid.apk ad .old to the end >cityid.apk.old thats it. hope this help

Titanium Backup is another good tool for removing apps from a rooted device. The donation version also lets you 'freeze' apps which disables them but is easily undone again from the program if you need to.

Perfect...thank you both very much. Root explorer and paid version of titanium backup...got it.

Thanks again...on my wayyy!!!
