I just got the S3 on ATT, came from a maxx on Verizon.

Battery is at 30% with about 2 hours web browsing, 10 emails, 30 minutes talk and no GPS, WIFI, BLUETOOTH. Is this how bad the battery is???

Also, how do I get rid of that weather thing on the home screen that takes up the top 3rd of the screen.

Thanks

Ok wow.....first thing, to get rid of anything on your screen, press and hold it until you see a trashcan pop up on the bottom right, then drag it over the can until it is red and then release.

As far as battery life, that is bad. Make sure you are turning off what you don't need like the million things that update constantly. Just check around and you will see lots of info.

Welcome and good luck.

That sounds like quite a drastic drop in battery. Mine has lasted upward of 26 hours and I usually get 4.5 hours of screen time, which I think is pretty good. What does your battery stats look like? Post that if possible.

As for weather widget, just tap and hold down on it, and drag it to trash can at bottom of screen.

as of now, being off the charger since 9am central time, see below. I just installed juice defender around 1 pm and have it set to balanced mode, is this good?

67% discharging
8h 4m 35s on battery
cell standby 35%
screen 21% 1h0m 28s
voice calls 13% 23m 45s
maps 11% 9s
android os 7% 5m 59s

is there any phone on ATT that gets similar battery life to the maxx on verizon? Is there anything coming?

Since you said you are new to that device, I am going to assume that it is your first day or two with the device. During the first few days you are going to experience a drastic drop in battery life due to many things 1) you are probably using it more than normal just because lol and 2) the battery has to be charged and depleted a few times before it reaches maximum potential. When I first got my Razr it would only last a few hours but after a day or two it set in and I can now go 12-20 hours on a charge

I've only had my phone for a little over 3 weeks now. When I first got it, I decided to do the battery calibration process that you may want to do yourself: Calibrate Android Phone/Tablet Battery and Achieve Longer Battery Life

Since you have Juice Defender installed that's a good move. And I agree with Champion1229. When I first got my phone I was tinkering with it for several days and using more battery. Now, with low to medium use I get excellent battery life which considering I'm living in a quasi-LTE area, is great. I rarely charge my battery more than every other day, which to me is fine.

Wow, every other day! I'm lucky to make it 15 hours on my Droid Razr! I guess thats the price to pay for an anorexic phone! lol
