New to Samsung and I have a question about holsters

I have preordered the S6 Edge and am looking for a horizontal holster/pouch. I've been using a Blackberry Z10 till now and when I insert it in my holster the phone detects it and goes to sleep mode and locks automatically. This is possible because the holster has a magnet/plate built in so that the phone can detect it.

Do Samsung devices and the Edge in particular work the same way? Should I wait for the OEM holster (if it comes out at all) or can I buy any on the market?

Holsters are not that popular because they are so vulnerable to phone thieves, especially in crowded places like buses or trains where people are pressed together. I learned this the hard way while traveling in Asia some years ago.
Even with disabling and tracking apps installed, high end phones are still a hot item for pickpockets.
