New Transform owner... one question

Hi everyone. I am having problems loading anything beyond the default samsung notification sounds to use for text messages. What folder do I put things in? Thanks in advance.

when you say put things in do you mean music? if you do then i just connect the phone to the computer and then i go under media and its usually under there for music.

makris is correct what i did was as he said i connected it to computer dont forget to mount it then i went into the media folder and created seperate folders in there for music, ringtones, notifications and another for videos not sure if the phone can tell the difference where they are but i can since i have prob. 500 songs and 50 ringtones and prob around 30 notification sounds, but it makes it easier for me to find the one i want instead of looking thru them all mixed up together.

I am new to this site and have been through all of the Transform threads looking for a possible answer to my problem and this thread comes the closest so:

I have had my Transform for about six months now and have gotten to a point to where I know it pretty well (or so I thought). I had put all of my pictures that were on the SD card onto my laptop and figured that I might as well free up that space for new pics so I re-formatted the SD card, which wiped out all my ringers. That was no big deal to me since I can download them again.

The problem I'm having is with my Gmail notification ringer. When I download it (the same one I had before from Myxer), it goes into my phone ringtones and I don't want it there. I want this ringer specifically for when I get email. When I go into my Gmail settings and look under Select Ringtone, I don't see it listed and I don't know how to get it there. I had set everything up perfectly when I first got the phone and, for the life of me, I can't remember how the hell I did it.

Can anyone help?

I think the notification ringtone is the same for all notifications. I have looked around and i can not find any way to change the ringer for texts, e-mail, facebook, twitter, etc. The alarm ringer is changeable.

I have been looking to change the ringer for each thing but its not possible.

It is possible, or at least it was. That's what's bugging me so much....that fact that I can't remember how I did it when I first bought the phone back in November.

When you say "change the ringer for each thing", are you talking about downloading your own ringer or just switching to another ringer that's already on the phone? The Transform has stock ringers for text and email.

For texts, I use Ta-Da because it's short, relatively loud enough to hear if I'm outside and the least annoying of the bunch. I've never used anything else for texts so I don't know if you can download new ones for that. Same for FB. My FB is linked into my Gmail so I get an email when something happens on FB.

For my email, I used to hear a simple "You've got mail". Short, sweet and to the point. I want it back but everytime I download it now, it winds up on the phone ringtone list with the stock ringers and I don't remember how to get it over to my email setting list.

I completely forgot about the update. That's what it's got to be, then. That's too bad. The stock notifications suck.
