New update change my messaging app design - any way to revert???

So the stupid new update took the nice sized messaging input bubble and reduced it to half the size to fit a bunch of icons on the left-hand side that I don't use anywhere near as often. I can swipe left to make it larger again but as soon as I sent a text it goes right back to the mini bubble with icons. WTF!!!??? Who seriously designs this stuff??? I am so ticked off right now. Is there any way to go back to the way it was? I have a hard enough time accidentally tapping the stupid sticker icon. This is going to have me constantly tapping on attachment icons when I want to tap in to type. Unlike other apps I don't see any "uninstall updates" for the app itself.

I just noticed it. Doesn't look like you can change it or revert back to previous stock Messages app version.

Can try different message app like textra or android message

yeah, I just went straight to Google Messages awhile back. No need to fool around with each vendor's own take on things. But then their web interface crapped out on me, so I went to Pulse. I'm happy.

I just updated and I don't see that issue on the Samsung app. I went back to Google though because I enabled RCS.
