New Update For Camera Today - S20 Ultra

I would expect to, as I own the global Exynos model, SM-G988B, that shows 3 camera updates since release.

Yeah, but to his point, there didn't seem to be info regarding camera fixes in previous updates, so I wouldn't find it surprising that there were in this update, regardless of not seeing it in a change log.

As per post #18... "Surely Samsung would have mentioned them, as they have done with other models, in their changelog. I cannot see any reason for Samsung to hide them."

Other Snapdragon models show their camera improvements, see post #16, so why not the USA models?

I have only stated what is in or not in, Samsung's own changelogs.

That is not unusual for Samsung at all. Same thing happened with the S10. Small, incremental updates won't always be mentioned.

No update so far on Rogers and much in need. 4K 30 FPS is broken with HDR + Image Stabilization on (produces choppy video that is not 29.97 as it should, but 27 or 28 fps). Either the CPU can't handle or the dev are not allocating enough CPU for the process. Same with 8K, can't achieve 23.98 fps as expected, but around 23fps, causing vertical lines. Samsung really has to do something as it was advertised as the most famous camera smartphone and the reason I took a second mortgage... to buy this expensive phone..

Check out this YouTuber's review of the improvement in camera performance.

I don't know man, you believe what you want, but I've seen you commenting in more than one thread letting everyone know they didn't receive an update to the camera, regardless of what they believe.

There were camera updates to the Snapdragon models. That's been confirmed through various sources.

I got the update & my focus is waaay better. Before it was noticably slow, now its snappy- now i'm happy :)

If it's indeed improved than this makes the phone one I'll have a hard time not buying again. LOL

Here's a few autofocusing clips of the ATD1 update on S20 Ultra. It improved since launch, and ever so slightly after each ATCM, ATCU update.

Not trying to turn this thread into a comparison but there's a drastic difference vs the competition.

The auto-focus and even the lens quality on this phone is a joke. It's not just autofocus, 4K video HDR10+ are choppy, 8K also, nothing is working as it should except the front camera. I've paid big bucks to get the best camera(they said) on a smartphone (S20 Ultra) and this is what we are getting. I am thinking about switching to Apple 11 Pro and I hate to be stuck in the Apple universe, but Samsung disappointed me. This is insane.

I got the s20 ultra from Samsung directedly and chose the Verizon model. Is this considered Verizon unlocked or just Verizon? Has anyone with the Verizon S20 ultra gotten the ATD1 update? From the videos it looks quite a big better, both in autofocus and in HDR / low light.

Was this with ATD1 update or before? Hope this fixes our problems! (for $1400 should have been fixed before teh release for sure)

Yours is the Verizon variant meaning it's running Verizon firmware and updates come from Verizon.

If you had chosen unlocked, then it would have been the US unlocked model with updates coming directly from Samsung (though it still needs to be certified by carriers before Samsung pushes)

SIM unlock has no effect on updates, it depends on what firmware you are running. Carrier firmware based on carrier model or US unlocked firmware if it's US unlocked model.
