New update for the Sprint GS6 Edge

I just got my phone Monday afternoon and today there's a 158.39 MB update for it.

It's late so I'm going to wait until tomorrow to install it and check it out.
Anyone else got this update?

Prob just a day1 update. I had mine done the same day I bought it. Upgrade it to avoid any unwanted bugs.

I haven't played much with my GS6E, so I'll pay attention to see if there's something noticeable about the update.

I also have recieved 2 updates, both around 150mb. Havent noticed any real changes, ive only had the phone a couple days baha

Update came out today! 5/11. All it says on the Sprint website is bug fixes... I will report back if this fixes the auto brightness bug that has plagued my phone and many others since the initial release.

Ok, phone just rebooted and I covered the front sensors (top of the phone) and the damn phone still auto dims! UGH! What is wrong with it! Someone help!

I wonder why theyre pushing updates so fast? I used to have Big Red and ATT so I'm used to waiting indefinitely.

That's weird, I've tried to replicate your issue to no avail.
Did you check all the sensors to see if they're working properly?

just caught news of a possible fix. Apperently someone from the tmobile s6e forums on XDA said he flashed a regular s6 rom from tmobile and it fixed his issue.

yes, this is exactly what it does! And I don't know how to flash etc.. and I don't want to root my phone to break the warranty! Plus we shouldn't have to do that to get this fixed... this really bums me out. I am shocked it wasn't fixed in this last update!

totally agree, we should not have to do anything to fix this issue our selves. Its a bug that samsung hasn't even mentioned. its happening to ALOT of people. Fortunately I'm on tmobile, and a flash-a-holic. But, this means it HAS to be software if a S6 rom fixes the issue. Which is good news.

Maybe a talented dev can compare a s6 rom with the s6E rom and figure out the difference, maybe they there is an easier fix then a rom.

Unfortunately the leaks 5.1.1 didnt fix it either.

thanks Trevor for the details! it's so upsetting because not only does my phone not show it's full brightness potential when I want it to.. it also somehow corraltes to when I take pics or snap pics... viewing my pics in my gallery,. EVERYTHING. it's a big issue. I complained to Samsung and Sprint. Everyone needs to be blasting them for this issue. It's driving me nuts.. hopefully someone can find a workaround... guess it's good it's software related but if it doesn't get fixed soon i'm going to return it. It sucks because I don't want the S6 I want the edge but all the units at Sprint are doing this!

fixed the issue with the rom from the s6 with a s6e kernel. will confirm when my girlfriend with her regular S6 get here to compare. but the sensor issue doesnt happen and it seems much brighter than i remember.

Good news is it seems to be software related and our sensors arent borked.
