New Update!

I'm on the most current version of MIUI but I'm glad to see Moto is still updating our phone. Maybe we'll get a suprise ICS update in the future. Here's to wishful thinking!

The new Update fixed my problem with phone restarting every time I would turn it off. That was real annoying. So far no problems.

Well, the update now makes the hard button lights go off when in the multi media dock! Yea! But I have lost root on my phone. Willl just uninstalling superuser be good enough to get rid of all the root related files?

Uninstalling Superuser.apk will delete the app from your phone. And now since you updated to .621 there's no SBF file yet to completely eliminate the sys write files root places so the best for now is boot into recovery and wipe system if you really need to.

update ran fine and the annoying camera settings bug (always go back to wide-screen) finally fixed. that one was driving me nuts. have not tested the random reboots w/music player yet, hard to reproduce on demand anyway.

unfortunately, the motorola exploit used to root GB seems to have been closed with this update. i lost root and cannot seem to re-root via pete's motorola root tool.

have to decide whether the update's benefits outweigh the loss of root!

I updated a couple hours ago. So far so good. My phone seems snappier.

The home screen used to take 5 to 15 seconds to load after leaving an app. But now it is there immediately like it should be. FYI...I replaced my moto home app with Zeam (a long time ago). This seemed to get worse the longer my phone was on (maybe android was unloading it from memory and it had to load the app???). I have to restart it at least once a day to get it to be snappy again. I'll see if this is still the case tomorrow.

Using the phone app to make a call would sometimes take literally 15 to 60 seconds to come up. Horribly slow. Now it is immediate.

I hope these improvements continue and the phone does not slow down and get sluggish again. I've had my Droid X since launch day in July '10. It's still going strong but I'm getting tempted by the new phones out there with ICS. I doubt mine will get Android 4.0.

Only developer ROMs will get us close to ICS. Our precious DX's are now a fart in the wind as far as Moto is concerned development wise. Just the .621 update is big news because they know as popular as it was when it launched, it's past its EOL but it is still out there in the wild being used by us. Squeezing pennies ole Big Red

Mine runs better for sure. Haven't had a random reboot in days. Mostly used to get really irritated at the reboot during streaming. That was totally unacceptable. During a workout..Pandora/PitBull..then bloop..just look down and screen is black. But, even though I love it, it's still not as fast as the new ones, but it gets done what I want/need.

When I go to update I keep getting an error that says "check for update isn't available at this time, please try again later"

anyone else get this problem?

My X keeps saying install failed. I'm using Voodoo OTA RootKeeper. Any ideas. It gets to the screen where it is installing then stops with a triangle with a ! in it and then reboots.
