I just got my V20 yesterday and so far I really like it. The phone I was using before this is the LG G4 for over a year now. Quite the expensive phone, didn't even know it was this much honestly but I'm liking it. So far I've not run into many problems at all and I've been through pretty much all the settings and seem to have been able to resolve some of them but there's two atm that I still have not resolved really.

On the G4 split screen mode was a lot easier and intuitive. I was able to swap the positions of the two screens as well as resize them and there was even a pop up window with a choice of all apps that were compatible and you could click and drag the icons to the respective half of the screen (top/bottom) that you wanted to place it on.

The stock Music app is gone and I've never been a big fan of the Google music app, but is there any that are similar? The one on the G4 was great and made searching through songs/albums/artists etc. quite easy and quick.

Yes i just came from the lg flex and it had much better splitscreen and qslide apps built in. ie: v20 doesnt have qslide calculator...anyway heres where i think i can help w your problem as i had the same.

To use split screen select the apps you want to use simultaneously : eg, chrome and calculator. Then hit the square button and youll see your windows stacked up. In the top right corner of each app window. Is a symbol that looks like 2 rectangles on top of eachother (stacked). If u select those you'll get the split screen.

If you want to use q slide apps (pop out/hover) you can go to the settings-display-home touch buttons and add the symbol for qslide apps. Thats the only place i could find them all in one place.

Also the music app...i found that i didnt like the iphone esque way of having all my apps fill up my home screen and not have an app drawer. That may be why you cant find the music app. I like having an app drawer if you want it back go into settings-display-homescreen- select home and choose home and app drawer. Then you can swipe through your apps and find them all so easily. Youll find the music app is pretty much the same. Im not a fan of the google one either.

One other thing. If u want to really personalize your phone and make it your own super quiclly you can change your theme (icons, keyboard color and so on) by going into...settings-display-theme and at the top right it will have a down arrow...click that and after a couple easy permissions prompts you can download really awesome free themes. Then after that you can change your background picture and really make it your own. I pretty much change my theme for the button icons and colors not the backgrounds that come with. I love how LG lets you cusomize everything.

Anyway, good luck.

If you find the apk for another LG calculator app, you can side load it on the V20 and it'll show up in the Qslide selections. I'm personally using the G3 calculator app someone posted in this section a while back. Works flawlessly. Don't remember which thread it was in, though. :/

Thanks for the response but I do indeed know how to use the split screen, my issue with the V20 (I don't know if this is the phone itself or just the android version now) is the lack of options when using split screen. I'm not able to swap the sides of the screen the apps are on anymore which was quite useful as I'd like certain apps to be on the bottom and certain on the top. Also there is no longer a way to close out the app on the top half, it only lets you gives you the option of closing the bottom which seems pretty much a backwards step in usefulness really.

I never really liked Q slide, I've tried it out a few times before even on my G4 but never saw much use in it. As far as the music app, I know of the Google one but it's not nearly as good as the one that's been a stock app on phones I've used previously like the G4 or any Samsung phones.

If I knew about some of these issues beforehand I might not have actually picked this phone, it's a bit disappointing really. I didn't know that some of these features had gone backwards rather than been improved.

I actually like the split screen mode, it's really easy. All you do is press and hold the recent apps button (the square button) and then press the home button (the circle key). Now go to and select the app you wish to split screen with and there you have it. The cool thing is you can split screen ANY app. The Qslide feature and split screen mode on my LG tablet is useless, there's only a few apps that you can split screen with.

As for the music player, I highly recommend BlackPlayer EX. You'll love it. It's totally easy to use, you can browse songs by folder which is much more convenient. It has a built in equalizer and a ton of options while keeping the interface simple.

Yea another issue with the split screen mode is that you have to select only from your recent apps. Which means you have to open up the app yourself and makes it take even longer if you're someone who opens up lots of apps. Then the only way around that that I see is to pin the apps you would want to use in split screen and use clear all to remove the rest. I'm just a fan of doing things the more efficient and quick way rather than not. The way it works now is a whole lot slower for me compared to how well it worked with my G4 and previous phones.

Yea I see that now, I think it was the way it was described at first that through me off. However that still means though that my other issue is not fixable? About being able to swap the apps sideon the screen?
