New V20 User from iPhone

The iPhones are great, no denying that. The V20 is a great Android experience though. It's a shame about battery life in Android but it is what it is. The iPhone slaughters most, if not all, Android devices in battery life. At least with LG you can replace the battery you may wear out due to having to charge it more often.

I'm still very happy with my V20s. They're very sliq phones.

My V20 has great battery life. Maybe not quite iPhone level but close.

How come everyone I know with an iphone gets terrible battery life? I see people on the internet talking about their battery life being great but the many I know are always tethered to a charger.. Its funny.

Every plus model I've had has given me great battery life. I use auto brightness, and I'm a moderate to heavy user and the iPhon7 plus has been a boss, plus the standby time is unmatched. The smaller iPhone models suffer average to below average battery life, I guess it all depends on usage.

You know, I had a iphone 6s plus as my second phone a few weeks ago. It would have stayed that way but there are major issues with switching between iMessage and the Moto Z Play . People on other iPhones would miss half of my messages when is switch through out the day.

Speaking of which, Jag you should consider the Z Play for it's battery life. Amazing.

Also, Allo has so much to learn from iMessage still.

Every year I get tempted to get an iPhone but for some reason don't.... Someday

And can you dig how fast these things charge.....are you kidding me!? Luv it!

I guess everyone's satisfaction is relative to their device experience. I get 4.5 - 5 hours of SOT on my G5 and I'm a happy camper.

Let's put it this way...no matter which phone I use, I charge every night. The iPhone is at 40% most nights, I've been charging the V20 early in the evening around 6... buying an extra battery for an already expensive phone doesn't make sense considering the excellent battery I was getting with the iPhone using the phone very heavily...your usage may vary

I don't understand this comment. On the iPhone you can't replace the battery so you are comparing the V20 on the basis of battery life of the existing battery? To me this doesn't make sense. Replacement batteries are cheap and the cost of the V20 and an additional battery is still much cheaper than an iPhone so I don't understand how you can complain about cost here, especially when carrying around a charged second battery that you can just switch in and double the life of your phone when your phone is getting low on charge. It seems like a win, win situation to me and one of the reasons I have stayed with LG.

To some the idea of swapping out the battery is a hassle and they can't imagine being bothered with that. My husband and mother are like that and I can imagine many other friends and family that might feel this way. I know it sounds hard to believe but some folks don't want a removable battery. They just want long battery life. I feel like with the V20 you get both, but yes, on the V20 I don't get iPhone 6/7 Plus battery life but I wouldn't leave my V20 over that. After a year or so folks (that keep their V20s for a year+) will be tickled purple that they can easily replace the battery if they notice degradation in the original.

iOS will always be better with battery life. It doesn't allow as much to run in the background as Android does which is why Android will give you a better Multi-tasking experience. Along with other factors like a bigger screen and secondary screen which use more battery compared to the iPhone.

For text messaging I rarely use the native text app from any Android device. I always use Textra, better emoji support even with iOS users and better features.

What app integration are you referring to with Instagram or snapchat? Would like to know what you're looking for as I feel app integration is far bettet than iOS generally speaking. I do currently use both an iPhone 7 Plus and V20 with the V20 or Android as my Primary device.

iOS is definitely a solid platform but can't fulfill my needs as a whole. Both platforms have their trade offs just depends which one(s) you're will to forego.

I made the switch from the iPhone 7+ and i wanted to share my thoughts on my experience after 4 days, for those that may be thinking of getting the V20

The good: no lag or stutters, very smooth overall performance, better ergonomics than the iPhone, great audio quality from the headphones, charges fast, IR blaster is a nice feature to have, expandable storage, nice screen quality, better notification system than iOS, text messages through my vehicle's uconnect system are read while driving which isn't available with the iPhone, sound quality when shooting videos is amazing, better native camera app, the native phone app is smarter and more feature rich

The bad: battery life is superior on the iPhone and I can get more out of a single charge than the V20, more consistent camera experience on iPhone, V20's shots on wide angle camera don't look natural, telephoto lens on iPhone is sweet and better for me than wide angle shots, front camera is much better than V20, iOS has better messaging app and emojis (Android's/LG's emojis are terrible), iOS has much better app integration for example Instagram and Snapchat, much more premium feeling than V20 for the same price, wider range of accessories, waterproof, stereo speakers

I'll give the V20 more time but these are my initial thoughts. It's a great device, but I'm leaning more towards going back to the iPhone because I feel I'm getting more bang for my buck and a better overall user experience.
Why did you leave iPhone in the first place? Kind of an unusual switch.
