New Verizon trade-in plan

So the new Verizon trade in plan was "released today" and its awesome (132 for my eris ) but I have one question, If I give them my phone will I be able to use the money that I got towards the purchase of a new phone with out extending my contract at contract price?

no the only way you get contract price is by extending your contract.

this is not like a trade up program they are just offering money for your old device basically. sorry

Nope but you can put it towards the full retail cost of a new phone. No contract with full retail.

you can put it towards the full retail on the phone. So say you wanted the Droid x which goes for 570

This would mean you only need to pay 432 for it. No contract extension.
