New Years Resolution. .One phone for 2015

For the mainstream it is probably the best. Certainly the best seller.

Perhaps. I just have to remind myself that many are focused strictly on the apps and the devices customability beyond wallpaper is not important. Also, I learned last night that there ARE jailbreaks for the latest versions of iOS so that IS huge. TBH jailbreaking has offered me plenty of tinkering in the past.

When the sales guy at Best Buy saw my Galaxy Alpha with Go Launcher on it last night he thought it was rooted because of the sick sliqness of it. He proceeded to tell me all the reasons why his iPhone 6 has a right to exist.

...but he was jelly. Peanut butter and jelly.

You would be surprised as to how many people with iPhones and iPads that have no idea what those devices are capable of doing. iOS devices don't have all of the features that Samsung devices have, but they are capable of a lot. But, in my conversations with people who have iOS devices, I can surmise that a lot of them aren't using them to their full capability. And customizing seems to be something foreign to them. They seem to be just interested in the apps like you stated.

Could I go for a year on one phone? I definitely could I guess, but the probem here is T-Mobile and their enabling. :) I am on the grandfathered JUMP program... the original that let you swap twice in a 12 month period, regardless of how much of the phone is paid off. I used my 'last' JUMP to go to the Nexus 6, so I am going to be on this one until at least the end of July. On July 31st, my counter resets back to 2 JUMPs again.

Now... the Nexus 6 is crazy good.... it is the first phone I've owned where I really can't point to any significant complaint or issue.... sure, there are a few little things here or there, but they all fall under the category of "If that's all you have to complain about, you have nothing to complain about"

But that won't mean that come July, I won't be tempted.... That's a LONG ways off and near everyone will have either rolled out their new goodies or at least announced what that new goodie will be. So we'll see if temptation gets to me once again.

You can do it. I have faith in you.

I know that I can limit myself to...3 devices at any one time. I'm excited and feeling empowered. I can do this!

I know that I started this thread... and I lost already..... I just can't do it... Phones are a hobby for me..... I had my Nexus 6 in the drawer and I had to take it out for a spin.... The 6+ is still my daily driver... but now I have those two and an HTC M8 windows phone... love them all

Wait. Let me get this straight. You have multiple nice phones in your possession and you were relying on...what...willpower to only use one for...a year? I must have misinterpreted that because that doesn't seem even remotely possible.

...and here you had me thinking of limiting myself to only 3 phones at any one given time. Shame on you.

LOL. :p

and on top of it all... I was sent a BLU WIN HD to try and I have a SKY Android coming in the next few week..... I am hopeless

I am considering dumbing things down for 2015 and just get an iPhone and stick with it. I've been doing the whole smartphone thing since 2004. Maybe it's time to go back to something simple and basic due to me suffering from some form of "tinkering syndrome" I have a hard time just leaving things alone.

You could just dumb-down a Note 4. :)

That was my original point... I seem never to be satisfied with whatever phone I have. I think that the Iphone 6+ is best for me, if I had to pick just one...

This whole thread is oozing copious amounts of entitlement, selfishness, and spoiled...ness. Or whatever that last one is called.

I keep a single phone for far longer than a year. Not because I have to, but because having multiple or replacing them often is wasteful, pointless, and stupid.

How will you people ever handle it once the silicon shortage comes to a head?
