New youtube interface.... Sucks.

I'm not sure if it's just on the Pixel 3 for some reason, but the new youtube app interface is horrible.

The play, pause, rewind, etc controls are now persistent over an opaque bageound. Instead of fading away after two seconds, they stay there until you hit an "x" on the lower right of the screen - which doesn't even always show up!

That's not the first time I've heard this. I wonder if it's being addressed? Good luck though, hope you find a fix for it.

YouTube has been asking me to upgrade.
Is it YouTube red.
I say no.

Is YouTube starting to restrict what we can watch.
Because it might offend somebody.

I had this the other day, very annoying. Found out that it was when I set up the accessibility menu. As soon as i turned off the accessibility menu, the controls on the YouTube app disappeared.

Yep it is because the accessibility menu. Turned mine off and all better.

I hadn't made the connection with the Accessibility menu (which I do have turned on), but did find that it vanishes immediately if you pinch to go from zoomed to original size, or vice versa.
