Newb willing to learn. Went from landline to GSIII, help!

Hello. You'll know right away that I'm a newb because I'm using full punctuation and spelling on my PC. I'm 59 and embarking on a new career--learning tech in 2013. Just got a gsiii about a week ago with T-Mobile. Do any of you have any links or suggestions for learning the BASICS that everyone seems to already know?

I'm not stupid, but I'm having a %$#@# of a time finding any super-basic tutorials or instructions online. The closest I've come is a UK seller:

Before I retired I worked for 30 years with severely handicapped children and adults and can be an absolute whiz at clinical issues and equipment and medications, but unfortunately, never had to learn computer/phone tech. Any help is appreciated. (I've gotta keep up with the 9 and 11 year olds!!!)

T-Mobile has a simulator as well. Although it seems kind of limited, only 30 items listed to utilize.

You can go on the Samsung hub an look for galaxy s3 and it will come up with a great guide
