Newbie HTC One Contact Sync

I just got my HTC One a weeks ago and did a contact sync. I got my one gmail account synced to it. It works great. All my contacts are synced on it in the correct groups I want. When I added a detail to the contacts, it got updated to my Gmail contacts. Perfect.

My issue is that whenever I add a new contact to my phone, as a Google contact, it doesn't appear on my Gmail contacts. I have even added people to the groups but it still doesn't show up. It's happened everytime I add a new contact. None of them show up in my gmail contacts. When I add contacts to my gmail tho, they still sync over fine. Can somebody tell me what's going on? I have a ton of contacts and need to manage them on both my phone and gmail, but I can't do that unless they are synced properly.

Try disabling your Google account on the phone and then re-add it. You can do this in settings under accounts and sync.

Thanks for the quick reply! I unchecked and rechecked sync contacts a few times there. Refreshed my google gmail contacts a few times too. The contacts in question still are on the phone, but not on my gmail

You can try to manually backup the contacts that you can't sync and delete your Google account. Re-add it, restore your backed up contacts and see if they sync to the cloud.

If not, you can try a factory reset, but that would be the last resort.
