Sorry if this is the incorrect location for this question, please point me to the correct arena if need be:
First and foremost I am a Verizon user and have a Razr Maxx HD (rooted), prior to that a Droid 2 (which bit the dust), so while I'm not a total newbie... I'm a pretty new, newbie. I just (haven't we all) gotten a Nexus 7 and while I currently don't see a reason to root it w/exception of getting Titanium Backup running on it, time will tell. With the Nexus 7 (2013) being a wifi tablet, how are users using it after moving away from a hotspot? Or is it that users are tethering their smartphones to provide the hotspot for the tablets? As a sidenote, as most ppl have had to do, I lost my unlimited data plan when I had to get a new phone, thinking I was a heavy user I started with 6 gigs but dropped it down to 2 gigs last month, I was only using less than a gig with 2 smartphones (my wife has a dna). TIA (Thanks In Advance)

I tether when necessary, but will often just use my phone if I need something from the interwebs.

And as awesome as titanium backup is, you should give Helium a try. It doesn't require root.

Thx... looked at Helium, but as my Maxx is a Motorola, the description on Helium says that I can't use it with that phone, I may consider still using it with the tablet though.
