Newbie Root question

Hi,

I've had my Evo now for 6 weeks and love it. I've been doing alot of reading on here in the forums and I know I'm ready to root my phone. Just to spin you up I have never applied and update yet to my phone I'm still at Software 3.30.651.2 and kernel version 2.6.32.15 if that helps. I was thinking of using the new release of the unrevoked 3, what are your thought of me doing it that way?

Second, what rom versions are most using now or the most loved?

You can use unrevoked with your current software version as well.

ROMs is a whole different ball of wax.. personally I'm on CM and love it.

Agreed... ROM's is a totally different world all together... Depends on what your looking for when you root.... I personally just wanted to remove the bloatware, pick up wireless tether and play around with Vanilla Android since my first Android phone was the Nexus One and I Just got use to Vanilla vs Sense....

The fun part is you can nandroid your different ROM's and swap back and forth until you find something you like..

Yeah same here really. I want the wireless tether and will I be able to ge trid of all the sprint crap that came pre-loaded like nascar and so on & so on?

I'll root it then read more on the ROMS to see if it's for me. Thanks guys!
