You can get market updates, However, the EVO has to be activated in order to receive OTA updates, since they are distributed by Sprint.I've been thinking of buying a used Evo 4G to use as a WiFi only device.
If I do that will I be able to get Android updates over WiFi or does the phone
have to be activated on a carrier to get official updates?
Thanks

How does a market update work? I went to the Android Market website but couldn't find anything about Android updates. Or were you referring to updates of individual apps?
Thanks
