Two ways. First to delete entire threads aka conversations:

Menu > Delete Threads

From there all you do is select the threads you want to delete and viola! They are all gone.

You can do the same process within a thread to delete individual texts. Hope this helps!

Pretty much just need to long press anything you want to delete and a menu will pop up.

Thankyou! BTW is there anyway I can get rid of the orange daily diary thing? I think you have to pay for it and I am not interested....just seeing that thing annoys me!

Get rid of it as in uninstall? No. Its bloatware. You can delete the widget by long pressing on it til the trashcan at the bottom of the screen shows up, and dragging it down til the widget turns red. By the way, I'm not sure if you are talking about daily breifing, or mini diary, but both are free.
