I got my Motorola Droid X2 (Verizon) about a month ago. I rooted it (Gingerbreak) and installed Titanium backup. All was good.
Then, I started having problems with my contacts (when I would tap on a contact, it would go blank, then revert to the contact list).
Verizon tech support had me do a reset (which I foolishly did without unrooting).
That fixed my problem, but it was no longer rooted. I check the settings and discovered it had updated to version 2.3.3.
When I attempted to root it again, GingerBreak just keeps running, saying:
Rooting...
Running exploit...
This may take a few minutes!
Device will reboot on success!

This has gone on for over an hour.
When I get out of this (power off and back on), and look at Titanium Backup, I get the message:
Sorry, I could not acquire root privileges. This application will *not* work! Please verify that your ROM is rooted and includes BusyBox, and try again.

I re-installed BusyBox, and get the error message:
Root Access Denied!

Is there an issue with 2.3.3?
Can anyone tell me what to do next?
Thanks for any help.

You going to have to sbf back to froyo and then root with gingerbreak and install the pre rooted version of gingerbread by P3droid. Gingerbreak does not work on 2.3.3. Can't provide links cause I'm not on a computer but will check this thread again when I am to see your progress.
