Question time to upgrade

i am going to shopping for a new phone on black friday, my present Motorola Moto G Stylus 2023 5G has done me well, i just installed a new battery and will keep it as a back up, i really want to step it up in performance something with a 500 or 550 max dollars, my friend has a Pixel 8 and he praises it, and he did have the same phone as i have now, any thoughts

You should consider the Pixel 9a, which retails for $500, but you could probably find it on sale. It has a lot of the same performance as the flagship, just without a few of the bells and whistles that most users don't really need. Materials are also less "premium,", but then again, plastic won't shatter like glass (and the finish they use on the "a" line phones still looks and feels quite nice).
