Newly Purchased Samsung Galaxy S4

[AC Question]

I have been receiving text messages from my son, who has an IPhone and has AT&T. I have Sprint. We both live in Michigan. For the passed week I have not received any text messages from him but he has been sending them. He said their AT&T tower was down for a couple of days but doesn't think that would cause the problem. My other son who lives in St. Louis, MO has AT&T and an IPhone and I get messages from them.
What is going on?

If the tower was down it could of lost the messages in transition. Normally there is a backup tower it will route thru that takes an " unknown " extended period of time to transmit them.

If a tower is down that definitely would cause an issue. The tower is like your Internet connection at home.. If it goes down your Internet won't work. Same with towers and cell phones.

Like others said, it is probably due to the down tower. Have him try to access a working tower to see if the issue persists
