So, am I the only one that finds it inteersting that HTC put out, what, 2 or 3 firmware updates prior to the official release date of the 3D and nothing since? There are a number of small issues that should be addressed by a new firmware update but so far, nothing. Anyone have any insight into what the wait is?

Probably because HTC has a ton of devices to support and they don't view any current Evo 3D bugs as their top priority. There should be an update to 2.3.4 somewhere in the near future, since it's being released for the Sensation in Europe.

still faster then the EPIC updates. :) Which is sad because i like both manufacturers products.

There may be an update before they allow the HTC sanctioned bootloader unlocking. Not sure if it will fix much, but I'd assume they'd roll some updates in with that. Hopefully, we'll know in less than a month or so.

I'm a bit disappointed with HTC on this. They are dropping the ball by not quickly coming out with updates for their flagship phone. As a 3D users I feel the phone is incomplete. To many people are having problems that can easily be fixed with a minor update. Its a sub-par device but with an update, it will become stellar.

Yes it would be great to recieve gingerbread 2.3.4 on my EVO 3D but honestly there isn't much of an difference yeah ok google talk right now no big deal in my world. I'd rather see some better games for the evo 3d or see qualcomm step up with there games center or game market for snapdragon devices we are waiting.....

I want to see some ice cream sandwich. Lets see how the software handles dual core processors, because ics(ice cream sandwich) is supposed to be able to use to its full potential of dual core processors

I just want for the love of god to stop the carousel effect on the home screen to go away :)

Matias Duarte the Senior Director of Human Interface & User Experience at Android is the person who developed webOS. He got in at the end of Ginger bread, but he'll be all over Ice Cream Sammich. Rumor is ICS may be here Sept/Oct so I don't see us getting an upgrade till then. I had a Pre for 2 years and I think webOS is the best mobile UI on the planet, that's why I'm here. Prepare to be blown away.

Here is a link to a 25 minute interview with Matias Duarte, well worth it IMO to see where we're headed.

You mean mobile operating system. And coming from a pre myself I must say it is pretty good. But it's no android. While I love the whole cards ui I think android had it in the bag. And i think widgets are the key is love getting at a glance info when I need to. If webos were to adopt it then maybe they have a good chance. But still android rocks

Web os is nice and they have a chance to compete, but android just keeps updating all the time with ice sandwich coming soon.

What are the odds there are fixes in there that aren't listed in that little sheet?

And that's not on the 23rd.
It specifically says we can trigger it ourselves on the 18th, tomorrow (Or maybe TONIGHT), and on the 23rd, it'll be pushed.

I hope so, if not then this update wont solve any of my major issues. Im sorta glad the see that HTC/Sprint hasn't forgot about us.

I saw this in the comments on both android central and phandroid...

The update adds native screenshot capability ... hold power button and press home ... screenshots get saved to the gallery!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D
