Next Nexus

Rumor-HTC and LG vying for the Nexus Three. If this picture is accurate it would mean that Ice Cream Sandwich won't require capacitive buttons, much like Honeycomb.

TDG is inserting the older LG rumor into this, the source link that he provided didn't even mention LG. There are concerns the picture was photoshopped as well; but that came up when the first Nexus S pictures were released too.

Anyway, three thoughts about this:

-Dang, this probably means no awesome IPS screen with Retina destroying resolution :(
-At any rate, *please* have an edge to edge screen of the final model. It just looks better.
-"I also asked him about which bands they are testing the phone on and and right now he said both HSPA+ and Sprint CDMA," - which means that once again Verizon customers will have a snowball's chance in hell at getting this phone. Screw you Google, if Apple could finally get the iPhone on Verizon, there's gotta be some way you can get the Nexus on Verizon. I mean honestly, you convinced Verizon to give CR-48 users free 100MB data plans. You really can't get a dang phone on there?

the post only says that they're TESTING hspa+ and sprint cdma. I don't think the phone will be released until december, and they could always add support for verizon, even if you have to buy it unlocked and register it for service

They could add Verizon support, but I'm not holding my breath. Verizon has always done they're own thing as far as Android is concerned, and for some reason they don't seem to want to carry the Nexus phones. They passed on the Nexus One in favor of the Incredible, and there was never any real chance they would pick up the Nexus S. So there is always the chance that Google could talk some sense into them between now and when the phone is released, but don't count on that happening. Oh well. If the Nexus Three isn't on Verizon thet I'll simply leave Verizon and go wherever the Nexus Three is.

Assuming it is true that they are working on both HSPA+ and CDMA models, I believe the HSPA+ version will come for AT&T and T-Mobile and the main release carrier will be Sprint

LOOK AT THAT PHOTOSHOPPED JOB. WOW THAT'S TERRIBLE!

Its obvious there is no real phone being held at all. Just a lazy graphics job done by someone who wants attention.

I agree this is a Sprint/AT&T/Tmobile Nexus

Wow this is tough. Motorola Photon 4G, Samsung Within, HTC Evo 3D, and the Nexus 3. 4 dual core phones on the same network. Wow. Now, I'm glad my upgrade is available in December (When nexus devices are released).

First off lets forget about a Verizon Nexus. 90% thats never going to happen. They want to cram like 20 bloatware apps to make more money on each phone. They see a Nexus phone as a loss.

they let it happen with the iPhone 4... why not with a nexus device?

My upgrade is in September and I'll be willing to hold out for a while if the new Nexus variant is released on Sprint.

A Verizon nexus would be the only way I will sign a two year, or its hasta big red, lol.
I'm leaving Verizon for AT&T (shudder) if the Nexus 3 doesn't come and no dual-core, unlocked ICS phones see Verizon by March 2012. I can't take it anymore, I really can't. :p

I see your point of view, and LOVE Android (so don't mistake me for an Apple fanboy), but the iPhone is a little different. What Verizon lost in crapware revenues, they more than made up for it with the millions of people who bought an iPhone. The iPhone just has that kind of pull with non-tech savvy people. The Verizon iPhone sold 1 million+ units within the first month, when it was already a nine month old phone. (-end troll) It really just pains me to see that, when Android has so much potential that most people don't know about. I do suppose there's always a possibility of Google pushing Verizon to put it on their network, though.

If the Nexus Three doesn't make it to Verizon (and I'm not holding my breath) then I'm leaving Big Red for Sprint and never looking back. I know Verizon likes to do they're own thing as far as Android is concerned, but all the major carriers, including Verizon, need to carry the Nexus phones. And if Verizon doesn't get on board then I'm jumping ship for another carrier.

Same here. I dont know why they won't carry the nexus. It would make them lots of money especially among all android fans who know and hate waiting for updates.

I hate to sound overly optimistic, but maybe if the Nexus S sells well on Sprint, Verizon and AT&T will take note for the next Nexus? (I say AT&T too because they don't offer it *officially* on their network.)

This thread also reminded me of something, unboxing my Nexus S on launch day when I got it. I can't wait to unbox another Nexus phone -- Google sure knows how to package phones in an enticing way. (And the sleek black design of the NS and it's SAMOLED screen helped a lot too.) :)

The only way I can see Verizon picking up the Nexus Three is either it sells really well on Sprint and T-Mobile or they see demand for the Nexus Three amongst they're existing customers. Beyond that I don't see Big Red going anywhere near the Nexus phones, unfortunately.

I'd love to see
Samsung made
Any dual core/quad core processor
1 gb ddr2 ram
4 inch samoled +
Contour display
Gorilla glass
Android ice cream
Soft buttons
Nfc
On sprints network!

From Nexus with love

Add "Verizon" to that list and change "Samsung" to "HTC" and you would have my perfect phone. Yes I will be buying the Nexus Three no matter who makes it (please not Motorola...) but I still have my preference. And yes I know that the Nexus Three most likely won't be coming to Verizon, and yes I will be switching carriers to get it, but I would prefer to not have to switch. It's a pain and I don't want to have to pay Verizon's early termination fee.
