Hi all,

I've tried searching several times over the last few months and even contacted google support, but I simply cannot get my Nexus 10 HDMI port to work (no audio or video) to any TV or monitor that I have. I have tried three different cables (including Blue Rigger, one from Monoprice, and another I picked up at a local Best Buy). According to google support, to get the Nexus 10 to work on any external device you need to app to use any external device and it is not plug-and-play. I have seen other Nexus 10 devices work as plug and play and I even gave them the benefit of the doubt to look for an App to get the hdmi port to work and could not even find any that exist.

Does anyone have any suggestions of how to proceed or can provide suggestions to get it to work? I've owned the tablet for almost 6 months and have been unable to get it to work every time I tried.

Thanks!

I have no problem at all. I just bought a cheap microHDMI cable on Amazon. Plug it into the N10 and any monitor or TV and anything on the N10 is displayed on the TV/monitor, with sound. No app or setting required that I know of.

Only issue I found is that you have to have the volume more than all the way down on the tablet BEFORE connecting the HDMI or there will be no audio (because it doesn't allow volume adjustment when connected and the N10's speakers are disabled).

What type of TV? IIRC Panasonic TVs seem[ed?] to have a problem with the N10. I haven't tried plugging my Nexus 10 directly into my TV but have it patched through an AV reciever. and HDMI switch mioght serve the same purpose for you.

That is a tip I didn't know thanks for sharing

I would send it back as not working. It connects by plugging it in and you already covered the posibility of a bad cable.

I just had the same problem. Only been a week since I got my nexus 10. I tried all 3 hdmi ports on my tv and none of them worked.:'( As a last attempt I tried to connect it to my HD pc monitor. It worked fine, sound and all. Was thinking of returning it and getting the new nexus 7, but I guess I'll keep it and use it with what I can. GF's amazon kindle works fine on my TV so we'll be using that to watch movies.:p

The answer to everyone's question here on how to have sound/video on Google nexus 10 tab on their HD TV is very simple... hook ur HDMI micro to tab/TV for picture and go buy a 3.5 mm headphone jack cable with red/white audio plugs on other end hook it to tab headphone jack and the red/white to back of TV audio ports. BAM. The audio cord is like 6$

Panasonic TV hdmi's suck basicly. All you need is the 3.5mm headphone with red/white audio plugs. 6$ almost anywhere.

Recently had the same problem at a rental condo, my N10 video would not show on the TV's. I tried my Comcast stick, that did not work either. I swapped cables to rule that out with no joy. When we got home my N10 worked as before with either cable or the comcast stick. Im starting to think it has to do with the high res output the N10 has. I have 1080's at home, but the condo had older 720 TV's. This is a work in progress, I will report back later.
