Nexus 10 Incompatible Apps

I am looking into buying my first tablet and am considering the Nexus 10. My main concern with the Nexus 10 is the availability of major apps, from my research I have discovered for example that Sky Go is not available on the Nexus 10 but is on other android tablets and the Football Manager game was not available for a long period for the Nexus despite being available on a range of other android tablets, the Nexus seems to be left out sometimes.

So my question is to people who own Nexus 10's as to whether there are many apps that are completely incompatible with the Nexus and cannot even be downloaded? I really want to get the Nexus over the ipad but I know I can rely on all apps being available on that.

I'm doing ok. Android makes re-sizing easy for developers. I have five Astronomy apps on my N10 that work fine. I thought that if an app worked on Android that means it worked on any Android device although some may look bad.

From looking on the Sky Go forums it sounds like people with the nexus 10 cannot download the Sky Go app at all it just says it is not compatible, obviously I cant be sure as I don't have the tablet but that's what people were saying

Kind of, but not really. For example, you can't install Whatsapp on the N10 (or any Android tablet for that matter) -- it will say it's not intended to be run on tablets.

I can't confirm that as I can't find an app with that exact title, but every app with "sky go" in the title shows as compatible to me.

Generally, any app that is not specifically designed for a phone should work. How well it works and looks really depends on the developer and how recently it was updated.

Yea. I don't see a app called Sky Go in the playstore. Which app is he refering to.

App compatiability can also be specified by the developer. If they decide they don't want a app to load on a device they can prevent it. Most likely that is what is happening. I have only one app that I can think of that is marked incompatiable, and it is MAX Go. So no real complaint here

Could be an app not updated to run on Android 4.2 which the N10 uses. The only skygo I saw was a launcher though.

Not sure if these are important to you, but it is a bitter pill for me. I really enjoyed my Amazon streaming videos and HBO Go on my iPad, but now I have neither. The Amazon app is unavailable, and the HBO Go is unusable on the Nexus 10. There is a separate thread for the HBO Go issue. So disappointing for this Android fanboy.

Not sure if these are important to you, but it is a bitter pill for me. I really enjoyed my Amazon streaming videos and HBO Go on my iPad, but now I have neither. The Amazon app is unavailable, and the HBO Go is unusable on the Nexus 10. There is a separate thread for the HBO Go issue. So disappointing for this Android fanboy.

Just for clarification for those who might skim the thread the Amazon INSTANT VIDEO app is unavailable, the Amazon MOBILE and Amazon MP3 work fine on the N10. I suspect the Amazon INSTANT VIDEO app would work fine if Amazon would authorize it for the N10 , sadly there is noting we can do to force them except perhaps email googletv-aiv-feedback@amazon.com and ask them nicely.

John, do you have 4.2.2? My HBO Go is so "laggy" that it is not worth watching. It is jerky. However, it plays just fine on my iPad 3.

Looking at google play theHBO go app was last updated on June 17, 2013 perhaps they solved the issue.
