I am trying to decide between the Nexus 10 or Galaxy Note 10.1 for my first tablet. Apparently the Galaxy Note 10.1 has cellular 4G connectivity, which the Nexus does not. Do either of these offer the ability to text message? The Nexus 10 appears to have higher performance and battery life, which is a huge plus. But but the idea of having to be connected to Wi-Fi makes the Nexus sound more like a laptop substitute, which is sort of what I'm looking for but I would like have internet connectivity wherever my Razr Maxx does. Thoughts? Thanks

In summary...the only real reason to consider a Note 10.1 over the N10 at this point is if you want the S-Pen and it's features.

Granted the N10 doesn't have mobile data either, so if that's one other factor that may affect your choice. For me, on the rare occasions I need it, I just use mobile hotspot app on my GS3 to connect my tab -- so that is also a potential option if you have a wifi only tab. For my use though, wifi is all I really need.

Android doesn't play well with SD cards anyways google knows this thats why no expandable memory on nexus devices id rather be able to keep all the stuff I wanna keep on my tablet on my tablet instead of risking an SD card failure and total loss of all music pictures etc... expandable is nice but id be straight pissed if id lost everything had that problem on my og Optimus and E4GT

Use a Google Voice number for texts. I think you can pay a one time fee to have your old cell number transferred to a Google Voice number. App works fine on all Android devices.

Use FoxFi and PDAnet+ for hotspot on your phone.
