Nexus 10 to HDTV question

I recently bought a micro-hdmi to HDTV cable. I watched a youtube video that showed how there was noticeable lag from the Nexus to the HDTV. I wanted to see for myself if this was true. Today, I tested it out, and the results were similar to the video. I was wondering if there will ever be a time when lag will not be an issue. Whether HDTV technology will improve, the problem will be solved with future nexus 10 updates, or whatever other solution. Maybe a better cable. Any feedback would be helpful and greatly appreciated.

While a high-quality cable always improves stability, the issue of display mirroring (whether wired or wireless) latency is usually related to the device itself, in this case the Nexus 10. I don't do a whole lot of mirroring with my N10, so I'm curious to hear others' experiences with this. Higher-resolution screens such as the N10's 2650x1440 put considerably higher strain on wireless mirroring solutions, but I haven't seen quite the same performance impacts on wired (i.e. HDMI-out) setups yet.

Everything else works great for the Nexus 10. USB transfer, Bluetooth transfer, download speed. The screen seems to be so powerful and advanced that even wired connections can't handle it, as you said. I have also had problems with video streaming such as YouTube and Netflix. On YouTube the video will load but then have to re-buffer itself. Netflix is inconsistent as well as having a choppy frame rate. Without these problems, the Nexus 10 would be a perfect device, in my opinion. If these problems were adressed in future firmware updates, I would be impressed as well as grateful. I am hoping I don't fall behind of the curve as I have already heard of a second generation Nexus 10.

It'll be quite a while before the 'current-gen' Nexus 10 is incapable of doing what you want it to. ;)

Well this gen nexus 10 just came out only a few months ago so I don't see them putting another one out anytime in at least the next 3-6 months

I use my N10 a lot to watch videos & movies on its screen & via HDMI on 3 of the TV's in my house (all different Brands/sizes but all LCD). I use Netflix, YouTube, Dish Anywhere, Google Play TV & Movies & the native video player for movies & pics I take with the tablet. I have never had any lag issues. It plays flawlessly for me all the time. I got my N10 on launch day. It is stock, not rooted.

Maybe I will mess with my HDTV settings. It is a little dated. Any ideas? It's an LG. Thanks for the feedback everyone!

If there are any sort of "processing" features on your TV, you might try turning those off. I can't say for sure what they would be called on a specific model, though.

Problem fixed! Plugged micro HDMI cable directly into the TV instead of my sound bar. I apologize to Google for underestimating their device. :)
